Let me begin by saying, adoption has been a life changer for our family, with the adoption of our daughter Eve almost eight years ago. My parents also adopted my youngest sister who is now a beautiful twenty-one year old. Though, adoption began long before that. The apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians that “even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love, He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:4-6) WOW! Before the foundations of this earth He chose me to be His beloved ADOPTED daughter!!
I meet Christie last year when I was invited to be apart of Fashion Week 2012. She was one of the hosts. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her blog hop on over… you’ll be blessed for sure!
Christie and her husband adopted their first daughter and now are in the process of adopting another baby girl due April 6. You can read their latest journey to adoption here.
Adoption is a scary path of lots of unknowns. One of the scariest things for us was “how in the world are we going to pay for this?!” I am not joking when I tell you that we sold a car, among other items to help pay for Eve. When we got our final bill we were a bit scared we’d have to return her. We didn’t have the $5,000 plus dollars that was left. God was greater than any of our fears and He proved Himself faithful once again!!
Brent and I have been working on some items for The Hill’s fundraiser and we were blessed to be able to use a photo taken from another adoptive mama and dear, dear friend Havaliah, who blogs over at Handful of Quietness. Not only am I blessed to have her as a sister in Christ, I am also blessed by her friendship and she lives just over the river and through the woods. She has offered many hugs when I am having a down day and her smile radiates the room.
Please join me as I pray for Christie and her family.
