I was born and raised in a small Ohio town. I met Brent at a small college in Illinois. After we married, we lived in a small suburb of Chicago before expanding our roots back in Ohio. To say I am a Midwest girl is an understatement. I love watching the corn grow and still get excited for fair season. I love strolling the isle of the barns while watching my children’s faces light up at every moo or oink. Our sweet Johanna even sheds tears with me when it’s time to leave the pig barn. We rarely browse the Midway, except for our favorite stop – a delicious, cold, soft-frozen lemonade – a family owned business and hardly the carnie type. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Living in Ohio, you get the privilege of calling yourself a Buckeye. I have to admit, I am not your biggest football fan. I do however, love the sights and sounds that a game brings. Several years ago Brent took me to an OSU game, a memory that will never fade.
I have really enjoyed creating banners and buntings. There’s something about them that brings a little nostalgia to the room. When these hang, memories of the game flood back to me; the excitement of the crowd, the band, the dotting of the “i”, the win… everything that comes with sitting in “The Shoe”.
Is there a word or phase that you love? Something that opens the door to emotions? I would love to create a banner for you that brings back wonderful memories from the past. In fact, I can’t wait to show you the custom bunting I am creating for my friend, Sandy… just in time to reflect on the birth of Christ this Christmas season.
